This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second grade teacher in an urban, K-5 public school that has the majority of its students coming from low-income families. Most of the students also speak English as their second language.

My students face many difficult challenges inside and outside of the classroom.

Despite the challenges they face, my students are always eager to get to school every day and learn something new! Our classroom is a warm and nurturing learning environment for the exploration of knowledge and self!

My Project

Providing our classroom with cleaning materials such as Lysol wipes and magic erasers will allow us to maintain clean and germ-free workspaces daily. With sickness going around like crazy, sanitizing materials is just what we need to keep the germs away! Also having tissues available for the students will help reduce the spreading of germs by giving the students blow their noses and then sanitize their hands. Paper towels will enable us to clean up messes quickly and effectively unlike the useless paper towels we are currently provided to clean up messes, large or small. Paper towels will also be utilized to wipe down areas that have been sanitized so students can work in those clean areas.
