Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a low-income area of Los Angeles County. All of my students come from low-income families. We are a Title I-funded school where one hundred percent of our students receive free meals. My students always try their best at everything and anything despite the challenges that they face in their daily lives.
They are expected to have it less easy than others, but we learn that with hard work and consistency, they can be unique or different from the rest.
My students are so eager to learn that it makes coming to work easy!
My Project
Help me give my students a fighting chance against germs during this upcoming cold season. During this time of uncertainty we have to be extra careful and wear masks as well as constantly sanitize our hands to keep each other healthy and safe. I have requested sanitizer as well as face masks for my students but funding this project would ensure we have supplies all year long. Keeping students safe has been our top priority since our return to in person instruction, these supplies would allow students to not only be safe and healthy but also give them peace of mind.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
