A majority of my classes are English learners, most kids barely speak the language, and some of the rest do understand. When we do class assignments or projects, visuals are a big help in getting the kids to work together to help each other finish the work. I even have some students who help me in translating to the lower level kids, which is a big help.
They are all motivated to learn and seeing the effort that they put into working together really shows that.
Support is what really pulls them through and I try to give them each as much as I can.
My Project
Since my students come from low-income homes, it would be a real challenge for their parents to take off of work and still be able to afford the basic necessities for the home. Unfortunately, that leaves some parents stuck between a rock and a hard place, choosing to leave their sick child home alone or sending them to school where they spread their germs to others. Also, if students are constantly sick, that leaves gaps in their education. Think about all the lessons and discoveries they will miss!
We need paper towels, wipes, and tissues to fight off germs in the upcoming school season.
With your help, our classroom will be prepared to fight a battle in the cold and flu season. Tissues will be a big help with the runny noses, as well as hand sanitizers to have a quick clean in between the day when they're not in the bathroom. As for the cleaners, I will be using it to clean their desk so it will always be germ free. These steps to avoid germs promotes a healthy environment, and it embodies the lesson that is taught throughout the city HIV (how to avoid germs and keep yourself heathy). We will be doing daily quick cleanups at the end of class, where each child will get their own lysol wipe to clean down their desk, so that they could learn the importance of cleaning up.
Please support my project and provide my class with germ killing Lysol wipes, tissues, and paper towels.
This will help keep our classroom a healthy environment. Thanks so much for your consideration.
