German Experience

Help me give my students Items that will help them experience amazing Germany, so they can create projects with a Cricut Machine, and read more books in German like short stories in German.

My Project

In German class, we like to do a lot of hands-on projects and many cultural experiences. A Cricut machine will make these lessons more engaging. Students also really missed having paper copies, having the opportunity to hold something in their hands. They do not want to do things on their computers, they want to be able to create with their hands or simply pick up a book and read it. This is why I chose the things I did from Amazon. The Cricut Machine will be an asset to decorating the classroom, for example, we will have an Oktoberfest where they can decorate. Currently, we are creating a German Cookbook to experience German Culture and compare it to our own culture. This is something that they can keep for years. To be able to make a more creative version with a Cricut would be amazing. I have added books so they can pick them up and read them. Since COVID-19, they are tired of their computers. They want to interact with each other. Have fun learning and building relationships, something that was very difficult at home with COVID-19 restrictions. I also would like to have more books in German in my classroom. This will help them with vocabulary and comprehension. Through the choices, I have made they will be able to read more in German from the short stories in German, create projects with the Cricut machine and its carrying case that will assist them in learning the language, and lastly they will have the opportunity to bring it all together this quarter with a small celebration. Both academics and social-emotional learning together.
