My students need 10 books celebrating cultural differences and books depicting other cultures and places. This proposal mostly consists of books that are multicultural depicting all races and people all over the world. Also I need crayons that reflect the different colors of students in my classroom, along with some CDs, art supplies, and multicultural dolls that students will interact with to celebrate the rich diversity I have in my classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello we are a kindergarten class in a high poverty area in a very large city in northern California. Our school is rich with diversity and culture. We are in need of many supplies, but today our classroom and our teacher are asking for funding of a multicultural library. Our school has many children who come from all over the world. A lot of students do not speak English. Our teacher wants to create a multicultural library full of books that celebrate all of our races.
Our school has 76% poverty level and the school itself does not have any extra money for anything of this matter. We have no active PTA or any fund raised money that would help me fund a book buying project. The school is rich and wonderful full of students deserving of a chance for the same enrichment other schools have. Our teacher has talked a lot about different races and the students are very candid and very inquisitive about where their classmates have come from. Building a library with many cultures from all over the world that depicts all of us will make us feel so proud!
The solution is to buy as many books that our teacher can get to create a library that is full of multicultural diversity and buy crayons that match our skin color so we can draw and paint ourselves with our beautiful skin colors. We will also be inspired by the stories our teacher will read to us celebrating the diversity of life on this planet.
We the kindergarten class in a large northern California City would like to thank you for even your smallest donation, because a little goes a long way. Helping our teacher build a classroom library and buying multicultural props ( puppets, crayons, and paper), will empower us to help us believe in ourselves and make us stronger in our sense of who we are. Thank you so much.
With Peace for a better tomorrow. Ms. M and the Kindergarten Class of 08
