My students need landforms and mapping books, a set of paperback biographies, a 3-shelf binder storage center, and other resources to learn about our world.

My Students
I teach a 1st grade and 2nd grade multi-age classroom at an urban school district in Washington. Many students at our school come from low socio-economic backgrounds and need all of the resources they can get at school!
Because my students come from such different backgrounds and family structures, I want to help instill an appreciation of culture and our global society.
In order to teach about our world, we will begin with maps and the landforms on Earth. As I integrate science and social studies lesson to teach these units, I find that these hands-on materials will greatly enhance my students' understanding of these concepts.
My Project
I am requesting in this project: landforms and mapping resources, books, historical figures/biographies for history lessons, and a storage place to place all of these materials! Students especially in the primary grades benefit enormously from hands-on, interactive materials. They help to make some of these abstract concepts more concrete. Learning about the Earth and history of where we live will help students to become more global thinkers.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about this important project.
Please help me to educate young children about our world and the history behind it all! Thank you very much!
