Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My present classroom library sits on old metal shelves and in order to have room for all my books; I have them in baskets, by genres. Some of the genres are way in the back, and students never see them.

I would like my students to be exposed to many different genres by making them all visible on circular, spinning bookshelves.

Instead of having one tall bookshelf, I can break it up into sections and have them lined up on my back counter, clearly labeled by genre.

Sometimes, I let students check out books to take home. It would be awesome if they could learn about things that were more along their interests. Having a broad selection of books that are easily accessible, would align with these goals.

Most of my students don't have a lot of reading material at home. Please help me get kids interested in reading by displaying the books in a more attractive way.
