Think back to all the joys of kindergarten- the excitement that comes with new places, new friends, and brand new experiences. I get to observe and participate in this wonderful experience in a low-income school in Virginia Beach.
I teach an inclusive kindergarten class- which means our class community is like nothing else.
While my students vary in their need for support, they also bring their strengths and their personalities. I am lucky enough to see friendships grow between the students as they share the first year of school together, and to see our class bond together as a result.
Technology is more accessible than ever before. My goal is to utilize technology to its greatest extent in my classroom this year! We are lucky enough to have a class set of tablets, but would love the Osmo Genius Kits to take advantage of them fully.
Numbers, Letters, Spatial Reasoning and more!
With the number tiles, tangrams, and letter tiles in the kit, we can address a wide array of foundational skills in our kindergarten curriculum. Therefore, I can utilize these genius kits across the school day- during small group math stations, literacy centers, or even S.T.E.A.M centers. Furthermore, the games associated with these kits are engaging so that the children will be eager to jump back into learning!
