Help me give my students six Osmo Genius Kit sets. This will allow our grade level to share the kits amongst each of our classes to reach up to 175 students each year.
My students are eager young learners who are just beginning to discover their own strengths and interests in school. Their flexible minds are capable of learning infinite new ideas, but they need materials and opportunities for exposure to new concepts, subject areas, cooperative learning, hands-on manipulatives, and social-emotional development. Occasionally, they also need a boost in their own self-confidence in order to really reach their potential. Our students are diverse, energetic, and positive; and they enjoy exploring games about letters, numbers, and shapes. With our DonorsChoose project, our students can achieve all of these things.
My Project
Imagine walking into a classroom to not only see students engaged in learning, but learning and having fun at the same time. Our students will be able to use the Osmo Genius kits during group rotations and play cooperative games to solidify their knowledge of number sense, letter sounds, shapes, and even begin introductory lessons in coding! Students will learn perseverance and problem solving skills, as well as grow in their social-emotional skills as they learn to share and work with classmates to complete the learning puzzles. Learning will sound like joyful laughter and look like smiling faces!

We are well beyond the days of only using pencil and paper to teach or to learn. The students will be using iPads along with the Osmo kits' manipulatives to engage in cooperative learning games and puzzles.
