Why do I have dimples? Why is my hair curly? These materials will help students understand these questions.
We are a rural school with 65 percent of our students receiving free/reduced lunch.
They have limited experiences outside of their community. Most have blue-collar parents with limited knowledge of the importance of science. I would like to encourage my students to have futures in the science field.
My Project
These materials will help to engage students and boost their understanding of key concepts.
Students will use these multimedia materials to play games and perform activities using special environment cards which will enable them to understand the influence of environmental traits in a population. Students will build a crazy creature by flipping a special coin that represent each parent and recording their outcomes.
Students will use materials to explore various topics including adaptation, dominant traits, environmental influence, genetic disorders, inheritance, meiosis, natural selection, pedigrees, punnett squares, recessive traits, reproduction, speciation and sex-linked traits.
"Guess what we did in science today!" I want my students to go home full of excitement as they explain everything they learned.
These materials will aid students in becoming interested in science.
