This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are ready to dive into hands-on activities! My students are eager and curious learners. We have hands-on activities for each of the academic learning targets as we are working our way to mastery level for eighth-grade science. We do it in many ways: problem-solving, writing/talking about it using the translanguaging approach, hands-on activities, working in teams, and self-monitoring our progress using our science notebooks.

Help my awesome 8th-grade students ride the waves of understanding the different properties of waves using a Vibration and Waves kit—an inexpensive, yet reliable tool to introduce mechanical vibration and waves with demonstrations illustrating concepts such as transverse and longitudinal standing waves the concept of resonance and mechanical vibration.

This wave generator will ensure equal access to all students in all classes to conduct the investigations themselves. This will enhance the students' science and engineering skills. More importantly, students are getting the chance to practice twenty-first-century skills of being problem solvers and critical thinkers in the classroom.
