My military sweeties need 48 new books, construction paper, design paper, paint brushes, stamp pads, 25 ring binders, and sheet protectors.
This project expired on October 16, 2009.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Learning is forever and my first grade sweeties have an overwhelming desire to learn all about the world around them as they travel with their parents who serve our country.
Throughout the year, we have focused on many traditions and customs that various countries and families celebrate during special times of the year. We have talked about Christmas, Thanksgiving, African traditions, Easter as well as other celebrated holidays. It is through these types of lessons that my students will gain an overwhelming desire to read and create hands-on projects that would reflect areas their parents are serving in to protect the United States of America. As an educator, I believe lessons that involve factual readings and materials needed to create projects will only enhance my students love for diversity. As my sweeties travel across our world, they can reflect on books read and hands-on projects they have created to gain greater understanding of the land they may live in.
Through literature, hands-on materials and art supplies such as construction paper, paint brushes, spiral notebooks and sheet protectors, I truly believe my students will create projects throughout the year to share with their military families serving our great country afar. I want them to understand the importance of diversity and how diversity makes each of us individuals. With these books and art materials requested I believe my students will gain a greater understanding of the world around them. With your help, the military children that enter my classroom will only leave with a greater understanding of cultures and people from other lands. They will also create a portfolio filled with memories.
As an educator within a military community, my sweeties come from all walks of life. Your help will ensure that my sweeties create images as well as hands-on creations to take with them as they move from state to state and maybe country to country. I want to make sure they never forget the fun, friends and love that was developed within our classroom. I want them to spread their knowledge of cultures and traditions with children across our world. With your help WE can make this possible!
