it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Music technology is a new course at our high school and the Gen Z musicians are loving it! We started the school year with nothing but the basics: Mac computers, GarageBand, and old elementary school-sized headphones with volume restrictions. I have slowly been procuring new equipment and each addition to the music lab increases student engagement, creativity, and musical achievement.
Learning music production and composition skills sets the groundwork for a future job in many areas: sound engineering, recording, film scoring, podcast production, and music production.
A MIDI keyboard and a quality set of headphones are essential equipment for a music production workstation. Currently we do not have enough MIDI keyboards and headphones for all 29 students enrolled in class. Students need to share and wait their turn for the necessary equipment to become available. And they don't want to wait! The students love the projects we are working on and have been creating amazing music. They are always disappointed when the few good headphones are gone and they have to wait for a keyboard to begin composing. Help me build the music technology lab the high school students need to fully realize their potential as future composers and music producers.
