This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are embarking on an exciting initiative to bring the world of art and creativity to our low-income high school students through a Gelli Plate Printing Project.

Many of our students come from families facing financial hardships, making access to art supplies and specialized projects like Gelli plate printing a distant dream.

Gelli plate printing is a versatile and accessible printmaking technique that allows students to create stunning artwork with minimal resources. By applying paint or ink to a gelatin plate and pressing paper onto it, students can produce unique and vibrant prints that reflect their individuality and creativity. Not only does this project introduce students to the world of printmaking, but it also enhances their problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and artistic confidence.

However, without the necessary resources and materials, our students are unable to experience the transformative power of Gelli plate printing. This is where your support becomes invaluable. Your generous donation will enable us to purchase Gelli plates, printing tools, and quality paper, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to participate and unleash their creative potential.
