My Students

Stem is a method of learning science that is hands-on and student led. I am requesting 3 stem lab kits to teach my students about inquiry through the scientific method. The students will build their own roller coaster, develop a pencil box alarm and create lunar location gear for outer space.

I am in charge of 35 fifth grade students.

They are the leaders of our great school. They are eager to learn and help. They come from diverse backgrounds. This leads to great discussions and lots of background knowledge to share on different topics. School is a place for them to be safe and have fun learning with their friends.

My Project

I am requesting 3 stem learning labs for my fifth grade scientists. Each lab focuses on using the scientific methods to develop solutions to real world problems. Students will work with partners to explore each lab. They will be learning physics, playing with circuits boards and mechanics. As an added benefit, they will practice presentation skills and teamwork.

Stem learning labs empower students to be leader in their own learning.

Instead of reading about science experiments, they will be completing them using the scientific method. Due to budget restrictions, science often gets put to the side. This is a shame because my students show invested intrigue in the world around them. By donating to this project, you will be giving them access to hands-on, fun experiments.
