My students need STEAM materials to increase their creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills. The Maker Space Mobile cart will make materials easily accessible for students of all ages.
There is a learning entry point for each student. To prepare them for their future, we must meet them at this point and inspire them to have a growth mindset. My students need a variety of supplies to further their STEAM education and experiences. Students in grades PreK-5 will use these supplies throughout the entire school year to facilitate 21st century skills. Working with students of various ages, I want for them to be excited to learn and explore. I want my students to be problem solvers that can see several solutions to a problem.
My students are innovators in the making, and what better way to teach such imaginative minds than to provide them with hands on real world experiences?
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth. With varying experience and capabilities, STEAM activities will not only facilitate team building skills, but also critical thinking and problem solving skills. Through STEAM activities, I am hoping to inspire my earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
Teaching STEAM, I have seen a pattern for a love to explore and learn through play and hands-on experiences, which is the way it should be for our elementary children. STEAM activities engage, support, and challenge each child no matter their age, language, or ability. I feel it is my duty to make learning as meaningful and engaging as I can for my students while also making it fun!
Curiosity, inquiry, creativity, exploration, communication, collaboration and critical thinking, are the skills that will be most likely to help students be successful in higher education, in the workplace and as citizens of the world.
The products I have selected will help organize engineering materials and make it accessible for students of all ages and help them manage their time.
