My Project
As I unpack my classroom, and imagine the students on their first day of school, in their favorite outfits - I'm thinking about all the learning and growth that I am privileged to witness! In first grade, literacy is extraordinarily important, and the area in which we work to see the A LOT of growth!
Help my students develop their literacy skills, and make the reading - spelling connection extra fun with some LCD writing tablets!
We practice dictation every day, and focus on certain spelling patterns weekly. Dictation, asking students to spell words using these spelling patterns, reinforces their learning and understanding of these patterns when they go back to decoding! It develops auditory sequential memory. Imagine how much more engaged students would be with an easy to use tablet. There would be no more dried out dry erase markers, or pencils with dull points standing in their way!
Additionally, I wish to rewards students with fun incentives that encourage their best work, and the willingness to make mistakes and learn from them!
