My Students
My students are from an inner city, Title I school. They attend a school where 100% of the students receive free lunch and approximately 40% of the students are homeless.
My student athletes are eager to play the game of baseball, but sometimes the lack of supplies and resources to participate.
My student athletes work hard to be academically eligible to play. They understand the high academic and character expectations I set for them can lead them success on and off the field. I do not want the lack of personal equipment to be an obstacle to their participation.
My Project
This project will help our student-athletes by providing them with personal equipment not provided by the school or the district. The items on our project list are sometime too expense for most of my players and is necessary for them to participate.
Your donations will make our players more prepared to play baseball during the COVID-19 pandemic by reducing the financial burden on parents and providing equipment to help keep them safe.
The items in this project include athletic socks, uniform belts, an ice chest, and tote bags. The socks and belts are personal gear player's families often have difficulty providing. The ice chest is needed to store bottles of water for practice and games since COVID-19 restrictions prohibit the use of water fountains. Finally, to help keep the players equipment organized and separated from each other, our project includes individual tote bags.
