This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I have 11 boys and 9 girls. They come from poverty stricken neighborhoods. They come from various cultural and economic backgrounds. This offers a great challenge for myself as well as my students. It also offers a great opportunity for people to work together and learn about others and their way of life. They attend an inner city Title I school that struggles to keep and maintain adequate equipment and supplies.
A new MacBook Air laptop computer will make online learning engaging for my students.
So many of my students are from low-income communities. Many of my students' families lack financial security, economic opportunities, health care, and other supports and resources.
The laptop will allow my students to connect with other students from around the world to gain valuable insight into the cultures and traditions that differ from their own. The students will be able to compare other classrooms by actively engaging in question and answer sessions with other students. Many of my students do not realize that the world is much bigger than their own neighborhood. This will be an eye opening experience that will teach students to appreciate culture and aspire to travel the globe one day.
