This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The sports equipment I am requesting will provide crucial hands on learning for my students in their physical education class. My students will use this equipment to develop hand-eye coordination, foot-eye coordination, agility, balance, and speed.
Sports is an excellent avenue for students to explore self-expression, joy, health-building activities, appropriate social-emotional interactions with peers for team building, compassion and cooperation.
The goal for this project is to introduce the students to sports and physical activity in the hopes it will ignite a lifetime pursuit and passion for movement.
This equipment will be so useful to engage and provide instruction for a student body of such diverse backgrounds. They have such a yearning and love to play, especially basketball, football, soccer, and handball. It will give opportunities to them that they would never experience outside of school due to lack of family engagement, lack of community resources, and/or a distraction of technology that stops our students from exploring playing outside.
