This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"It's not about what it is; it is about what it can become." Dr. Seuss.
I have the pleasure of working with outstanding children.
They come to school prepared to learn and try their best every day. I teach in a Title I school with a high population of non-native English speakers. Our school is located in a low-income area, with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. I focus on the potential and growth of the children in my room. That growth is measured in student joy and love for learning and their engagement in classroom activities!
My Project
Help met to introduce my students to the basics of engineering and the STEM process. The Gears, Gears, Gears STEM kits will stimulate my students creativity and natural curiosity by working on construction activities. Simple machines using gears to put machines in motion, explore space, provide lights and action, and a set for student exploration, can prepare students for careers in mechanical engineering. Students will make a plan for their projects. They will create that design using collaboration and critical thinking. Much of their learning will be in testing their designs and analyzing possible changes. Using the Gears, Gears, Gears STEM kits to design engineering projects will prepare them for 21st century jobs. By helping to fund this project, donors will help to prepare first grade students for the jobs of the future!
