My Project

I am looking to help my lower level students read and appreciate F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic The Great Gatsby. In the past, we have read the novel and some of the language that Fitzgerald uses goes above their heads, but the story is so important in American Literature. After we finish our unit and watch parts of the movie, the students gain a better understanding of the events unfolding.

I hope that a graphic novel depicting the story of Gatsby will allow my students to fully grasp the events taking place in this incredible story.

As a visual learner myself, sometimes I even find it challenging to see what a writer is trying to create in his or her words, so by providing images to go along with the story can help my students see the bigger picture.
