My Project
I'm looking for more ways to build community in our classroom. My students love music and dancing! A gathering drum is a great way for students to learn about rhythm through marching and dancing to the drum beats. It can also be used for counting, call and response chants, and individual turn taking.
A gathering drum is used in many cultures and would also be a great addition to our social studies curriculum.
I'd like to use it as an incentive to keep kids' attention, as a special way to call us to the large carpet, and as a fun way to integrate music into our day!
