This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from all over the world. They speak over 7 different languages and come from more than 10 countries! Entering our reading & writing classroom and having a space to gather together to teach lessons, read and build community is vital when welcoming these students, many of whom are also new to the United States.

I gather my students every day for reading and writing lessons as well as community building activities like game time and circles.

The space where we sit together matters. I want my students to feel welcome, comfortable and safe in our room.
