This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a wonderful group of students who are always ready to learn and question the world around them! They are truly an inspiration for me everyday to do my best to bring them engaging educational opportunities.

2nd graders are always eager to listen to a good story and have the chance to talk to their peers about their learning.

Our school is located in a low socio-economic area in South Carolina, where many of our students do not always have the same educational experiences available to them, as other elementary schools in our area.

Each child in my classroom truly loves to learn and do their absolute best each and every day!

My Project

My students have books read aloud to them daily, especially during our daily meeting time. 2nd graders also enjoy the opportunity to discuss the books with each other, while also giving them the time to share books that they love.

By donating to our project to fund a rug and great stories, you will help to instill the love of reading in the hearts of my students.

Furthermore, this allows them to gain listening skills, as well as communication skills needed. The rug and children's books gives my students a specific space and medium within the classroom that promotes a sense of community and belonging.
