Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is being lead by my students, which makes it special because they want to help other people. Our goal for this project is to create a community garden to support healthy food options and to have a space where we can come together. These resources will help the community garden get up and running.

Creating a community garden can address several important issues, such as food insecurity, community engagement, and environmental sustainability.

By growing fresh produce locally, community gardens can help provide nutritious food to those in need, improving food access and health outcomes. Additionally, these gardens can serve as educational spaces, teaching students about gardening, nutrition, and environmental stewardship. Meaningful impact in their communities and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable food system. These items will be utilized to make planter beds, fill them with soil, seed, and tools to work in the garden and start seedlings in the spring.
