This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I, inner-city public school. Many of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students and school need support and resources to continue our successes.

I teach 90 excited and engaged third graders; they really are the best kids.

My students are diverse! As an ESL teacher in an inner-city school, we need all the resources we can get. My students get so excited to get new resources to help them learn both inside and outside the classroom. Thank you for considering this project! We are so thankful that you are considering supporting our lovely kiddos.

My Project

We have 930 students at CJR with a school garden that needs some TLC. We need to fill our garden boxes with soil. We will be growing seedlings and getting plants from a local farm. Soil is the biggest need for our school garden. As you know, soil is at the basis for all gardening. We need to enrich and fill up our partially filled boxes.

We know from experience with our city students that gardening and hands on and outdoor learning is what has the greatest impact on our students.

Please help me provide this enriching experience for our students.
