My students are so very excited about learning...especially about science! They are eager to study, research, and jump in to work as a team to explore hands-on, real life experiences. With your generous donation we hope to create a garden by planting flowering seeds in our school's garden. We hope to observe pollinators as they work to beautify our area.
An outdoor pollinator garden is an extension of the science classroom.
With these flowering seeds, our garden will provide opportunities to educate our students about the life cycle of a butterfly, allowing them to view each stage of growth and explore the intricate relationships of plants and animals. It will also attract other pollinators, giving the students more opportunity to learn about ecosystems and how animals/insects get energy from plants.
The goals for the pollinator garden are to benefit both local wildlife as well as students and teachers. We will create a native plant pollinator garden that will provide habitat and food sources for birds, butterflies, bees and insects; and we will double the observed species of pollinators within two years.
