it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of the items requested will assist in getting our greenhouse outfitted to start a garden off with some basic necessities. My students are aware that we might not grow a lot of produce the first year(s); in fact, my fifth graders won't even be around after June, yet they are still very excited to get this project off the ground.
Eventually, we hope to produce enough to share with the Glendale community, but in the beginning we are looking to provide our cafeteria workers with some additional fresh produce to be included with the students' lunches.
My students are actually quite exceptional when coming up with ideas to help the school community and the community at large. Especially our fifth graders, who don't get to see our projects come to fruition, but still give their all in order to make it happen.
