My Project
I have been taking online education courses in the area of mindfulness in the middle school classroom. Unfortunately, many students nowadays experience anxiety and stress on a daily or weekly basis. Sometimes having a concrete "calming space or corner" can make all the difference in terms of managing stress and anxiety as well as promoting mindfulness. Having this calming corner in my classroom would allow for a designated, private space for one student at a time to unwind in order to move through the school day more successfully. In order to have this calming corner be successful, I would allow one student at a time to ultimate the space during a designated class times for a set amount of time.
