My Project
My students come into dance with a variety of backgrounds and experience levels in dance. Additionally, as middle schoolers it can be hard to make friends and not feel embarrassed moving their growing bodies in front of new peers.
Through the use of these interactive dance games, students can learn to feel more comfortable in the dance room while building a cooperative environment.
The students will have a game they can use during trust-building exercises as well as moments of "down time" in which they can still dance, move, exercise, and cooperate with others. The inclusion of games into classrooms has shown increased engagement in school content as well as positive social interactions, and the dance room needs to be included in these types of activities.
