My Students

Fifth grade students in my classroom are highly motivated and strive to do their best. They envision themselves as 21st century learners and take advantage of opportunities to enhance their reasoning skills.

With increased teamwork through collaboration and the integration of STEM in the classroom, these students are actively engaged in hands-on, inquiry lessons.

Therefore, they put forth great effort to achieve continued success. Students want to learn and we are continuing to work on effective student talk to increase higher order thinking skills.

My Project

In math and science class, it is vital that students collaborate and share ideas. Often, students want to share their ideas only and overlook the ideas of others. In class, we focus on effective collaboration through math talk and making meaning conferences in science. The emphasis is on working together to listen and provide feedback to everyone's ideas. Working together and collaborating are life skills that students are learning at an early age to promote greater success in their future.

The use of the requested Loungie supersoft adjustable mobile gaming chairs will allow students to meet as a collaborative team to engage in these content-rich discussions.
