This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! I am a sixth grade teacher at a Title One school in Antioch, California.I have a self contained, sixth grade class consisting entirely of English language learners. In addition to learning the sixth grade standards and requirements, my students have the added challenge of learning to communicate in English and work cooperatively with each other using their new language skills. We have an elective period at the end of each day in which we use enrichment activities to reinforce the materials they are learning in a fun and creative way.
On Friday afternoons, my class enjoys rotating through various stations in which they play educational games, use cooperative learning strategies to improve upon their language acquisition, and explore creative ways to learn the standards. For this reason, I am requesting various games that will engage my kids in active, hands-on learning that will be fun and educational. Thank you for considering our group!
