Help me give my students Reading Comprehension Games Library, Mastering Math Games Library, and other great games that will encourage thinking, problem solving, and collaboration.
"Play is our brain's favorite way of learning." ~Diane Ackerman
My students have a great love for learning and play is serious learning.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and have many different learning styles, strengths, and needs. They learn best when they are able to explore and create their own learning through engaging experiences. When children are able to learn though play, they are completely engaged in the experience.
Our Title I school is located in a rural town and we are a very close knit community. Many of the families at our school have been in the district for generations.
My Project
I am about to begin an amazing year teaching an AIS and Enrichment class for 5th and 6th grade students. This is the first time a class will be offered in this format in order to reach all students.
The goal of this class is to meet students exactly where they are on their educational journey.
If students need remedial help, they will receive it. If they are on level and just need review, that is what will happen. If students have already mastered the material, they will be given the opportunity to be challenged. Much of the learning in this class will be facilitated through small group instruction and centers. These games would help to actively engage all students when they are able to participate in the games center. Not only will they review their skills, but they will also collaborate with their peers to successfully play the games.
These games will offer my students a great learning opportunity this year as well as for many years to come. Thank you for taking the time to read and support my DonorsChoose.org project!
