Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title l school in Glendale, AZ. I have been at our school since it was built 15 years ago, so it has a very special place in my heart! I have an ELD kindergarten classroom and have such a kind and caring group of students that work hard and are excited about learning! They amaze me every day with their incredible progress in all areas. Despite having the extra challenge of learning the language, they persevere and overcome challenges to master the kindergarten standards, while also acquiring English proficiency.
My Project
These games will provide my students quick options to continue to practice our language and phonemic awareness skills in a wide variety of ways. Practice makes perfect! The students will be learning and mastering skills while having fun playing games! These kinds of games can be very time consuming for me to make on my own. These activities are already fully prepped and prepared, saving me a lot of time to immediately get them into my students' hands. I will be able to use these activities from day one to engage my students in literacy skills. My class will be able to use these games in small group centers and will, also, be great options for fast finishers to do when completed with their work.
