My Students

Do you remember 1st grade and how much fun it was to play games at school?

My students are smart and come from diverse backgrounds.

They are critical thinkers who will be challenged by the project I have created for them. They have been studying how people have fun and have learned a lot about the topic. These students have supportive and wonderful parents who are also involved in our project. The children have been playing games at home with their families and studying about what specifically makes game playing fun.

My Project

Although my students have some experience playing games, they need more skills based games to have access to in the classroom. They will play the games, and undoubtedly learn from a range of different reading comprehension games and phonics games as well as a math allowance game. Then they will be able to refer to those games and their instructions when they make up their own game.

This idea comes from project based learning where the projects are created to make learning more engaging and meaningful.

When the students work cooperatively with their classmates and create a project that they will present to an audience, they are proud of their work. These games will provide a great start to the project.
