This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are naturally inquisitive and eager to learn. As second language learners, many of my students need hands-on activities and materials that promote English language development. Visually engaging games will allow my students to experience learning through play.
Despite being economically disadvantaged, my 22 kindergartners display great enthusiasm for learning and a zest for life.
My students come from homes where English is a secondary language. Our Southern California classroom and school is a abuzz with Armenian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Lithuanian-speaking voices. All students at our school receive free lunch and many of my students participate in the free after school program.
My Project
Allowing my students to have a variety of games to choose from makes the learning experience more enjoyable, meaningful and memorable. In kindergarten we help foster social skills such as being patient, taking turns, sharing, and following directions, therefore instilling life long skills. By providing my students with these materials, you will enhance their academic and social skills at an important age in life. Our goal is academic and social success for all students.
With your generous donation, you will make it possible for my kindergartners to develop self-confidence, patience, turn-taking skills, sharing skills, listening and speaking skills.
Using the various games will allow my students to experience learning in a fun way. These games will enable my students to learn while playing independently and/or with friends.
