Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I run the ESOL club with another teacher. Our students are tutored virtually each week in reading and math on Zoom by college students from Penn State. Twice a year the Penn State students visit our school for the day. They spend a few hours getting to know the students that they have tutored online by playing games with them in our IMC (library). Also, students at our school who need a break from learning also sometimes visit the IMC with an adult. Playing some of these games will help these students refocus so they can go back to class with a smile on their faces. I am requesting Jenga, Connect-4, Monopoly, Uno, Candyland, and a guessing game called Hedbanz. These games will be amazing and will last us a very long time.
