My Project
My amazing students all have IEPs and are working on both their academic and social skills. Playing games is a great way to build community, promote a positive school/classroom environment, and support students engaging with each other in meaningful ways.
Through the use of a variety of games, we can focus on cooperation, taking turns, patience, decision making, embedded math and language arts skills, and so much more.
We have a game shelf in the room where we have begun to establish a collection. Every Thursday, we have a block period where there is enough time to work on academics and also engage in small group and or whole class activities to promote social emotional learning.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
