My Project

My students have developed strong connections with our Grandfriends at our local nursing home. Most weeks find us visiting them in person once a week. We would like to purchase some games for us to use during these visits. Board games bring people of all ages together and are a great way to connect and engage with others. They encourage teamwork and healthy competition, which can help reduce feelings of loneliness, isolation, and even depression. Board games can improve hand-eye coordination and boost mental sharpness as well.

My goal for this project is to empower my students with the tools they need to have fun and engaging visits with our Grandfriends.

This project includes some of the classic board games such as Connect Four and Jenga with some new entertaining games such as Qwirkle and Suspend. I have no doubt that my students will have the most fun sharing these games with the residents.

I am so proud of my students for embracing the residents. I don't know who looks forward to our visits the most, my students or our Grandfriends.
