My Students
I am a special education teacher in Chicago public schools. My students are in 3rd-5th grades. My students have varying levels of ability and varying disabilities.
My students are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and kind.
My students come to school eager to learn and try their best with everything they do. My students enjoy exploring different academic topics and making their own connections to the text through stories and pictures. I want to instill a love of learning in my students which is possible when we have the necessary supplies and materials.
My Project
These games would be a great addition to my classroom. They would give my students the opportunity to practice skills that we are working on in out classroom reading units and math units. Also, they would allow students to continue to practice and review skills that they have previously learned.
Games allow students to practice skills in more enjoyable ways and they also promote social skills with peers.
My students benefit from practicing skills in many different ways that goes beyond completing worksheets. Games will provide hands on and social experiences that will support the recall of the academic skills. Also, these games will support discussions among peers that can be difficult for my students to have independently.
