My Students

I teach K-6th grade special education students in a Title I school located in a beautiful country setting. The students are young, so they love to walk into an environment where they feel safe and can have fun. They are excited to learn and come to school each day. When we do activities as a group everyone feels included and part of a team. When we introduce something to one student we like to give everyone the same opportunity. We have found that what works well for one, often is helpful to many.

My Project

Each day we like to give the students an opportunity to play some type of game during one of their center times. Many of our games are paper and pencil or paper made. With these games we will have more variety of games as well as opportunities for students to learn rules and how to play a game in a small group. Students will learn how to be good sports and encourage each other to do their best. The math games will help with math facts and the word building games will help students with letter recognition, blends, CVC words and reading. Learning is always a lot more fun when there is a game to play.
