Gamers Ready for Financial Literacy

Help me give my students grab and go board games to reinforce financial literacy and apply these skills to everyday life.

My Project

Gamers Ready for Financial Literacy will develop awareness for financial literacy and foundations for life. Students will use fun themed board games to take complex concepts and turn them into simplified concrete concepts. Donut themed board game will reinforce place value and reading a check paystub. Students will be sure to understand the difference between 40 and 400 using dollars while earning and spending money in the donut shop. Students will be engaged with their peers checking the value of each number in its place. In an outer space theme board game, students will race their peers to the planets solving math facts correctly. As students become fluent in addition they can understand how interest adds up and working hours increases their pay. Students will be able to calculate their money and rates when they have a strong understanding of math fact fluency. People say time is money; young learners, especially those with special needs, do not understand this concept. In another board game, gamers will collect money and race the clock to earn allowance and earn money.

By transforming abstract and complex ideas of financial literacy into interactive board games, your generous gift will empower students with special needs with financial success.

Financial literacy is a crucial skill that is often overlooked in special education classrooms. Many families today lack a basic understanding of budgets, time management, interest cost, and so much more! Gamers Ready for Financial Literacy will give students the foundations needed to be lifelong learners in financial literacy. These high-interest board games will provide students with special needs concrete concepts of financial literacy and build a strong foundation for long-term success.
