Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Middle schoolers are, without a doubt, wild about video games. Why not embrace that energy and encourage kids to explore their creativity and the imaginative possibilities inherent in tech and STEM? In a new initiative, our school library is teaming up with teachers from the math and STEM departments to bring laptop devices into our school so that more students can learn the magic of game design.
Access to technology is an equity issue.
Our school is extremely short on tech devices, which limits the opportunities we can offer. Many of our students have their own devices, while others rely on school-provided laptops.
We hope that the support of generous donors will help us to narrow this gap, so that all students can unleash their creativity and make the magic happen. This addition of technology to our school will allow us to expand opportunities for students to create their dream projects. We see how motivated students are about game design and we know that this initiative will generate a lot of excitement and interest. Our students are amazing and deserve to have what they need to express themselves.
