Help me give my students something to do at recess! On a rainy day in Washington State or a day when kids just want to stay in, this project allows them to have a fun activity to do!
I teach in the small rural farming community of Enumclaw, Washington. Our school is a family and strives to build strong relationships with students. I have 24 energetic students in my fourth grade classroom. They are engaged in their learning and motivated to give their best effort.
Our school goal is for students to "level up" in their learning.
You can level up in many ways throughout the school year. Examples of leveling up could include improving scores on assessments, using a growth mindset, making a change in behavior and much, much more!
Great things are happening at my school each and every day!
My Project
Learning comes in all different forms and one of the most important jobs we have as teachers is to nurture a child's social learning. Students will benefit from the social and emotional aspects of gameplay in a safe space with this project.
I would like to give my students safe social learning options during recess.
Kids may stay in because they do not feel like dealing with social issues on the playground or just need some quiet time. These games will give them positive social opportunities to interact with their peers in a safe environment. My goal is for them to play a game together while following the rules and conversing with each other.
This project gives kids another option for social fun during recess time!
