Help me give my students engaging games and Science of Reading-aligned center materials to build their social-emotional skills, reading confidence, and academic independence.

My Project

My students are bright, independent thinkers who sometimes lack confidence and struggle with social skills like collaboration. I'm seeking your support to build both social-emotional and foundational reading skills through engaging activities.

My goal is to foster independence, teamwork, and strong reading abilities.

I aim to create a fun, motivating learning environment where students confidently participate in RtI activities, learning to collaborate, handle competition, and build solid reading foundations.

Games like Connect 4, Sorry!, and Blokus will develop crucial soft skills. Connect 4 enhances strategic thinking, Sorry! teaches graciousness and rule-following, and Blokus builds spatial reasoning. These games provide hands-on practice in cooperation and sportsmanship.

Additionally, I'll incorporate Science of Reading-aligned reading center activities. This is vital because it provides explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Many students need targeted support in these areas. These activities allow for individualized practice, ensuring each student receives tailored support based on proven research. Building foundational skills increases reading confidence and motivation.

By combining engaging games with evidence-based reading instruction, I aim to provide a holistic approach to student development. I'm confident that these resources will empower my students to thrive, building both essential social-emotional skills and the strong reading foundation needed for future success.
