Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We believe that every student can lead and every student can learn. Our peer mentors, called “Peace Makers” lend a hand to classrooms across our school to provide support and mentorship to our younger students.

With your help, we will be able to host our Peace Makers in our special education resource classrooms so they may provide support with our younger students who are struggling with foundational reading skills.

We will create a game based learning environment filled with phonics activities, sound matching games, alphabet manipulatives and more!

Our Peace makers will take an active role in aiding literacy efforts in our school community by leading these sessions, modeling reading strategies and encouraging our younger readers.
