My Project
At our middle school, many students are deeply familiar with online video games but have had limited exposure to classic, hands-on board games. To support healthy development and enrich our school environment, I am requesting a collection of board games specifically for our middle school girls. This initiative is designed to foster critical social and emotional skills while offering a refreshing alternative to screen time.
Board games provide students with a valuable opportunity for screen-free engagement that promotes communication, teamwork, and resilience.
Through playing, students learn to follow instructions, cope with setbacks, and understand others' perspectives. These moments build not only academic and cognitive skills, but also emotional intelligence and a healthy sense of competition. The structured yet playful nature of board games encourages focus, patience, and interpersonal growth—skills that are essential both in and out of the classroom.
This project will give our students—especially girls—a chance to build lasting friendships, discover new ways to have fun offline, and experience meaningful, face-to-face interactions that support their overall well-being and academic success.
