My Project
I absolutely love my students for their resilience, creativity, and the joy they bring into our classroom every day. Each of them learns in their own unique way, and many face challenges that require extra support with communication, fine motor development, academic learning, and social interaction. Despite these challenges, they are incredibly eager to learn and grow—and they shine the brightest when given the right tools and opportunities.
The resources I’m requesting—Chutes and Ladders, Don't Break the Ice, and other games and activities focused on communication, fine motor skills, reading, math, and collaboration—will give my students the chance to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning that meets them where they are.
These materials are not just "extras"—they are essential tools that help my students connect with the content, with each other, and with themselves. Communication games will help my non-verbal and minimally verbal students express their needs, wants, and ideas. Fine motor games will strengthen their coordination and prepare them for writing, self-care tasks, and classroom independence. Reading and math games will turn what can sometimes feel like frustrating academic tasks into joyful, motivating experiences. Collaborative games will help them practice turn-taking, problem-solving, and empathy—skills that are vital both in and out of the classroom.
My students deserve to feel successful, included, and celebrated for who they are. These resources will not only support their learning but also boost their confidence and help them build friendships, take risks, and love school.
