This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 4th graders are full of energy, curiosity, and a love for hands-on learning! They thrive when lessons feel like play, and I want to bring more fun, strategy, and teamwork into our classroom with engaging board and card games like UNO, Battleship, Trouble, Guess Who, and giant-sized chess and checkers.
These games do so much more than entertain—they build critical thinking, social skills, and problem-solving abilities.
UNO reinforces number recognition, color matching, and strategic thinking.
Battleship strengthens logic, deduction, and spatial reasoning.
Trouble helps with counting, patience, and sportsmanship.
Guess Who encourages questioning, deductive reasoning, and descriptive language—great for my English learners as they practice vocabulary!
Giant chess and checkers develop strategic thinking, planning, and focus while making learning big and exciting!
My goal is to create a classroom where students learn through play while reinforcing key academic and social skills. These games will also encourage collaborative learning, helping my students work together, practice communication, and develop perseverance—all while having fun!
What makes my students special is their enthusiasm and teamwork—they love helping each other and celebrating each other’s successes. With your support, I can give them resources that make learning engaging, meaningful, and memorable.
